The Steering Gear aids to effortlessly transfer our turning force on the steering wheel to the steering link which in turn, turns the front wheel of the car.
What are the signs of a bad Steering Gear?
Notice if the car veers to one side? Is there a lot of room to turn the steering wheel before the wheel reacts? Is there a grinding noise while turning the steering wheel? It could mean there is a leakage of power steering fluid. If there is not enough lubrication, the Steering Gears become worn over time due to excessive friction. Liquid puddles under the driver’s side of the car is likely a sign of a leaking power steering fluid.
This leak can be repaired using the Power Steering Gear Rebuild Kit.
